Too much to do? Too little time? Relax! We’ll pack for you!
Do you have medical, dental, and prescription records handy?
Have you transferred your children’s records to their new school?
Do you have copies of any legal and financial records you might need?
Have you informed your insurance companies of your move?
Have you filed a change of address through your local post office?
Have you closed or transferred your bank accounts?
Be sure to schedule a disconnection of all utilities, and connection at your new
home.
If you are using a moving company, check their list of items that cannot be put on
their truck (flammables, poisons, perishable goods, live plants, etc.)
Do you have meals planned for the week prior to your move, along with plastic silverware,
plates, bowls, and cups?
Prior to packing your house, set aside a suitcase and enough clothes, toiletries,
medicines, and other necessary items to last through the move.
Will you be driving to your new home? If so, prepare your vehicles (gas, oil change,
etc.) and be sure to have enough items to entertain your children on the long drive.
Have you emptied and cleaned your refrigerator and other appliances?
Do you need to arrange childcare for moving day?
Be sure to double-check all closets, drawers, and cupboards are completely empty.
Does a friend or relative know your route to your new home in case of an emergency?
If you are loading a truck yourself, be sure to have enough moving blankets, hand
truck, and appliance dollies for moving day.
